McClintock Ducks Candidate Debate with Moore

Press Release

Date: Oct. 9, 2014

Rep. Tom McClintock has refused to appear with Art Moore at a 4th Congressional District Candidate Debate scheduled for October 15th in Auburn by the League of Women Voters.

"This is another example of Tom McClintock's pattern of disrespect for the voters of the 4th District," said Moore. "He doesn't respect us enough to live here, he doesn't respect us enough to work with local leaders to solve problems, and now he won't even appear with me to discuss the issues and his behavior in office."

Moore, who has been broadly endorsed by local elected officials throughout the district, challenged McClintock to debate him before the November 4th election.

"Having the honor to represent citizens in Congress is about showing up and being accountable," said Moore. "I challenge Tom McClintock to show up and debate. I'll debate him anytime and anywhere. I'll debate him in the 4th District where I live. I'll even drive to the 7th District where he lives in Elk Grove."

Moore went on to thank the League of Women Voters for their efforts. "I'd like to thank the league for organizing the Candidate Debate in Auburn on October 15th. Out of respect for both the league and 4th District voters, McClintock should change his mind and attend."
